six weeks

I cannot believe that Acorn is 6 weeks old today.
Here is a pic I plan to send to friends and family (email send) for the holidays, but I post it here, early....

By the way, the ticker is weird, and has the wrong count, I am not sure why.
She is smiling and making lovely cooing noises to go along with her goat grunts and elephant snorts. She is a noisy baby, except in deep sleep.
I am still struggling with b.re.ast issues, the yeast is slowly leaving, and my n.ips are again cracked. I am sincerely tired of it, it has gotten to the point that I can't remember not being in pain. Awful. But, Acorn is growing well, she gained 6 ounces in 5 days!

  6. What a doll! She is soooo cute! I love the pic - what a stocking stuffer!

I'm sorry nursing/yeast/nipples continue to be such a problem. It sucks to have the joy taken out of breastfeeding. I truly hope it clears up soon.

  7. Poppy- Acorn is beautiful! I love the stocking idea.
So sorry to hear about your nips. Ouch ouch ouch. You are probably already doing this, but it was a real life saver for me--Lansinoh was a life saver--in the purple tube. I gobbed it on after every feeding. It was the only thing that gave my nipples any relief. Good luck! Thanks for posting the beautiful photo of Acorn!! (Can't believe already 6 weeks old!?!!)

  9. I had major b.reast issues nursing my twins and a lactation lady gave me the BEST mixture of stuff to put on my nipples. I bought all kinds of stuff but in desperation one night I sent my DH to CVS and I swear it helped more than anything else. It is completely safe for the baby too.
I am not pushing it on you-as I am sure you have been getting lots of advice, but if you want the recipe feel free to e-mail me at coryjoanna@yahoo.com. My twins are now 6 months old-and still nursing, but it was SO hard the first 3 months. Hang in there!
    Merry Christmas!
